Lesson 1: The Purpose of the Church 🎯

Introduction: The Central Focus 🌟

Welcome, dear friends! Today we delve into the very heart of the Christian faith—the purpose of the Church. Why does the Church exist, and what should be its core focus? 🤔

Main Point: Worship and Glorification of God 🙌

• Scripture Foundation:

  • Revelation 4:11 — "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being."

  • John 4:23-24 — "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth."

  • The Confession teaches that the acceptable way of worshiping the true God is instituted by God Himself. Worship not prescribed in Holy Scripture is not to be used in the worship of God.

Worship: The Heartbeat of the Church 💓

God created us for His glory, and He is worthy of all adoration. Worship is not merely a Sunday activity but the heartbeat of the Church. 🎶

• Scripture: Psalm 29:2 — "Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness."

The Essence of True Worship 🕊️

John 4:23-24 lays out that true worship must be "in Spirit and in truth." Worship isn't about external rituals but a heartfelt communion with God. 🙏
